A Vodka Story: Facts about vodka we bet you didn’t know

Did you know that Vodka is traditionally made from fermented cereal grains and potatoes?  Well, we have five more facts

about vodka we bet you did not know.

1. Up until 1885, vodka was only sold in large (12.3 liter) buckets.

2. Owing to the high production and consumption of vodka in America, Nordic and Baltic countries (Northern Europe & North

Atlantic), these regions constitute the Vodka Belt.

3. While flavourless vodka is popular, its flavoured versions are also widely available. Some of the best vodka flavours are red

pepper, ginger, varying fruit flavours, chocolate, and cinnamon.

4. Since vodka is distilled from water ethanol and fermented potatoes or grains, it contains very little fusel oils and is one of

the purest drinks in the world.

5.  Asides drinking, vodka can also be used for cleaning glasses and bathrooms because the alcohol tends to kill, mould and

mildew.
