So you opened your favourite bottle of red wine and have some left that you’re not prepared to drink immediately or to throw away, here are some fun and practical things to do with left-over red wine.

  1.      Sauced up     

Red wine makes a delicious gravy sauce. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a frying pan; add finely chopped onion

and garlic. Then add 1 cup of red wine and simmer for 3-5 minutes. Pour in stock, when thickened season with

pepper. 

2. Make some Sangria


Who knew making sangria could be so easy. Place apples, oranges, orange juice, and brandy then muddle; add

red wine and stir. Finally add ice to chill. 


3.      Cookie Time


Red wine is a great ingredient to add when making your chocolate chip cookie


4.     Care for dessert?


 Poach fresh pears in red wine to make a low-fat dessert. Try it out


5. Frozen



Pour left-over red wine into ice-cube trays and preserve till you are ready to and use to make Sauces.
